USI has utilized Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities to capture, store, analyze and display geographically referenced information. Most commonly, GIS is used to create maps containing layers of data about a particular feature or features being studied. USI then uses and organizes this data for analysis. GIS is also used in asset mapping where we are able to record and store resource information for municipalities and clients. USI is able to utilize GIS capabilities to better serve our clients on many different types of projects including those containing street maps, water and sewer system maps, zoning and land use maps and property maps.
