USI engineers are skilled in all aspects of traffic–signal design, from recommending specific traffic–control equipment and its optimum placement, to the development of traffic signal phasing and timing plans. Utilizing traffic signal optimization software such as PASSER and TRANSYT, we can develop signal timings for isolated intersections as well as coordinated and closed–loop systems. We also have experience with the design of traffic signal preemption plans for both emergency vehicles and railroads. Our engineers can assess, plan and design Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and then help local transportation and emergency–management agencies make the most of the traffic–related information available from ITS technologies.
